Safeguarding

Safeguarding comes before convenience.

BAKARE is committed to safe, professional practice when working with children and young people.

Working with schools

When BAKARE works with students through a school, the school’s safeguarding policy, designated safeguarding arrangements and reporting procedures remain authoritative for that engagement unless otherwise agreed in writing.

One-to-one work

Appropriate consent, communication boundaries, online-session arrangements and procedures for responding to disclosures or concerns should be established before regular one-to-one work with a student under 18.

Professional boundaries

BAKARE’s role is educational and careers guidance. Confidentiality has limits where there is a safeguarding concern, risk of harm or another legal obligation to share information.

A detailed safeguarding policy, safer-working protocol and escalation procedure should be finalised before the public launch of services involving minors.
